Satoro 'Lifting the lid of the teapot'
'Lifting the lid of the teapot' is a practice for clearing the lungs and chest (and the lung meridian) by draining the 'teapot of the lungs 'of dampness, steam and congestion by opening the 3 pointed triangular lid cluster of Lung 1, Kidney 26 and 27. The holding of the 'lid' is not forceful. The contact is made with love and positive energy. It is very important to make the whole movement in a relaxed state. Beware hunched and tense shoulders. Don't hurry. Get a rhythm going. Imagine that you are lifting the lid, opening and closing it, to let the steam out. With the fingers on the opposite side of the chest, draw the middle finger underneath the collar bone towards the centre until it reaches the notch for Zhongfu Lung 1 and place that middle finger on it. Then the first finger alights on Shufu Mansion Kid 27 in the notch above and the fourth finger on Kid 26 below it. Think of this as opening and closing the lid with the in-breath and out-breath. The action is that of sinking the chest on the same side as the 'lid' as you exhale and twist in towards the centre whilst keeping the the 3 fingers in that small triangle, beginning the in-breath as the hand is drawn up to the head and to the fullest part of the breath, lifting the chest, let the hand brush over the head twisting the torso away from you, stretching right along the lung meridian to Lung 10 the end of the thumb and making a deep exhalation as the arm drops behind to swing freely behind you in a circle to regather for the upswing. 'Lifting the Lid of the Teapot' includes giving attention to the Spout of the teapot continuing above the collar bone and inserting the fingers downwards behind the collar bone, and massaging specifically; Stomach 11 Qishi (where the chi resides), Stomach 12 Quepen (empty basin) and Stomach 13 Qihu (Chi Door) that lies right above Lung 1 above the collar bone. These are important points for clearing the lungs. I also like to rub either side of the sternum and stimulate the lymph nodes and the kidney points out through the intercostals and then use a springy drumming with the fingers on the sternum. The tapping (Dao Je Fa) and squeezing, carries on down the arm especially on the outside lateral aspect of the tendon at Lung 5 along the meridian to Lung 10 at the outside of the thumb nail. Rub the achey spot in the webbing between the thumb and first finger LI 4 called 'The Great Eliminator'. Change hands and do the other side.

Third do Postural Drainage;
If you end up with pulmonary symptoms of corona virus pneumonia, there can be lethal damage from effusion (mucous filling lungs) or cytokine storm (body over-reacts with more effusion.) This kills.
POSTURAL DRAINAGE..the patient is tipped over a wedge, such as an upturned chair padded with pillows, to tilt the lungs and bronchial tubes upside down... to allow the mucous to flow out, where it can be coughed out
PS Don't leave this until you are ill
Fourth; there are herbs that help the immune system; specifically for pneumonia
Principles; clear away heat, detoxify, dry dampness, enhance immunity
black Atractylodes - dry dampness (lung specific)
Honeysuckle - clear inflammation -
astragulus - boost immune response
Eupatorium (boneset, feverfew) anti- inflamation
Licorice (the great harmonizer)
*Most Important*.
IPCP innovation, IPB/Pupil scanning for the Coronavirus pandemic
Fifth; if they had installed IPB/ Pupil Scan cameras, or even developed a no-touch app for mobile phones and laptops as I proposed 8 years ago, the country would never have got in this mess in the first place.
Last do look at the IPB/Pupil Scan. It might never get rolled out across the country but there has got to be a place for it. It is such an elegant solution.
